8. Lewis E. ZERBY,³ son of John ZERBY and Elizabeth HAMILTON, was born on 19 Aug 1836 in Allenville, Mifflin Co., PA, died on 10 Sep 1864 in Concord, Morgan Co., IL, at age 28, and was buried in Concord Cemetery.

General Notes: Lewis migrated to Concord, Illinois with his family when he was sixteen. He is listed in the household of John and Rachel Zerby in both the 1850 and 1860 census for Concord, Morhan Co., IL. He married Elizabeth Beeley when he was twenty four and had three children. He remained in Concord until his death in 1864 at the age of 28.

After Lewis' death apparently his widow married his half brother Adam H. Zerby. The 1870 census for Concord, Morgan Co., IL shows Lewis' children in the household of Adam and Elizabeth Zerby.

Lewis middle name was probably "Elias" based on an incomplete entry made in "Blue Book of Schuykill Co., PA"

Nancy was born on 24 Nov 1857 in Carol County, MO (Carrolton), died on 1 Feb 1927 in Commanhe, KS, at age 69, and was buried in Crown Hill Cemetaery, Coldwater, KS.

         ii.  Lorenzo Lindley ZERBY was born on 12 Oct 1860 in Concord, Morgan Co., IL and died on 7 Apr 1943 in Eureka, Woodford Co., IL, at age 82. Lorenzo married Jeanette Elizabeth RAYBORN on 25 Aug 1886 in Avilla, KS. Jeanette was born on 12 Feb 1860 and died on 26 May 1916, at age 56. Lorenzo next married someone.

        iii.  Clara Ann ZERBY was born on 31 Mar 1865 in Concord, Morgan Co., IL. Clara married James Monroe GRIFFITH on 30 Jun 1886. James was born in May 1855 in Indiana.

9. Elizabeth BEELEY, daughter of John BEELEY and Dorothy, was born on 16 Apr 1839 in Dover, England (Sheffield, York) and died on 26 May 1916 in Concord, Morgan Co., IL, at age 77.

Elizabeth married Lewis E. ZERBY ³ on 22 Jul 1860 in Concord, Morgan Co., IL.¹¹ Lewis was born on 19 Aug 1836 in Allenville, Mifflin Co., PA, died on 10 Sep 1864 in Concord, Morgan Co., IL, at age 28, and was buried in Concord Cemetery.

Elizabeth next married Adam Height ZERBY on 24 May 1868.

10. Thomas BRANDOM, son of Francis BRANDOM and Elizabeth ?, was born on 6 Jan 1809 in West Virginia, died on 11 Jan 1872, at age 63, and was buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Carolton, Mo.

Thomas married Nancy Martin HANNAN in 1839. Nancy was born 1822, 26 Dec 1821 in West Virginia and died on 14 Feb 1899, at age 77.

11. Nancy Martin HANNAN was born 1822, 26 Dec 1821 in West Virginia and died on 14 Feb 1899, at age 77.

Nancy married Thomas BRANDOM in 1839. Thomas was born on 6 Jan 1809 in West Virginia, died on 11 Jan 1872, at age 63, and was buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Carolton, Mo..

12. Milton MILLION, son of Haman MILLION and Judith HINSON, was born on 3 Oct 1819 in Harrison County, MO and died on 1 Aug 1884 in La Grange, MO. (Lewis County), at age 64.

General Notes: Milton was born in Madison County, Kentucky in 1819. In 1826 he came to Missouri with an uncle and they settled in Lewis County, where Milton worked as a farm hand. Milton was made depty clerk on January 2, 1847 (minutes of the court of Lewis County). He married Ann Bradshaw of La Grange in 1848 and soon after won election to the office of circuit clerk. He then moved to Monticello, the county seat, where he remained for 30 or 35 years. His time was divided between the two offices of circuit clerk and county clerk, being first elected to one and then the other. Miilton was the county asssessor from 1848 to 1854. In 1861 he was elected county treasurer, but he was a northern man and when party feeling, incident to the discussion of the slavery question and the war, became very heated in Lewis County, the bushwackers drove him out. He went to Illinois, remaining until a short time prior to the close of the war. He returned to Missouri, settling in La Grange where he obtained two acres (Lewis County Land Assessment Book - 1862). In 1866 or 1867 he was chosen to represent Lewis County in the state legislature, and after the expiration of his term of office he returned to La Grange until his death in 1884. He was the president of Monticello emancipation meeting.

Emma was born on 21 Jul 1856 in Indiana, died on 12 May 1937 in Woodward, OK, at age 80, and was buried in Hennesy, OK.

         ii.  William Ramey Bradshaw MILLION was born on 8 May 1854 in Dickerson, MO and died on 27 Feb 1923, at age 68. William married Martha Ann McCAMPBELL on 24 Oct 1877. Martha was born on 13 May 1861 and died on 19 Aug 1944, at age 83.

        iii.  Milton Knight MILLION was born in 1856 in Dickerson, MO, died in 1952 in Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, at age 96, and was buried in Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas.

13. Ann Elizabeth BRADSHAW was born in 1832 in Lewis Co., MO and died in 1882 in Lagrange, MO. (Lewis County), at age 50.

Ann married Milton MILLION on 26 Nov 1848 in Lewis Co., MO. Milton was born on 3 Oct 1819 in Harrison County, MO and died on 1 Aug 1884 in La Grange, MO. (Lewis County), at age 64.

14. Samuel KELL, son of Benjamin KELL and Rueamy BECKNER, was born on 16 Jul 1833 in Rising Sun, Indiana and died on 3 Dec 1928 in Bison, OK, at age 95.

General Notes: Samuel and his daughter, Alice, took part in land rush when the Cheyenne and Apache Reservations were open. He lost his claim in litigation. A drunk fellow who he gave a ride on the wagon, fell off, and claimed the land first. He lived with his daughter who received 160 acres.Samuel was a very tall straight man, gray hair which curled at the neck and a beard. He did not smoke, drink or chew tobacco. He was a convert to the Catholic faith, although one of his brothers was a Baptist minister.

Samuel served as a 1st Lieutenant in Company C, 69th enrolled Missouri militia. He was in Texas before the land rush, his son, Edwin, was born, Macomb, Grayson County, TX in 1860. He then moved to Missouri, locating in Winstown, Lewis County, where he was a merchant. His son also was in the land rush, staking a clain near Okarche. Edwin was one of the first settlers in Apache.

Samuel married Mary BRENNAN on 26 Sep 1855. Mary was born on 25 Dec 1835 and died on 26 Aug 1903 in Bison, OK, at age 67.

7        ii.  Emma Catherine KELL (born on 21 Jul 1856 in Indiana - died on 12 May 1937 in Woodward, OK). Emma married Burrell MILLION, son of Milton MILLION and Ann Elizabeth BRADSHAW, in 1877. Burrell was born on 29 Oct 1851 in Monticello, MO, died on 11 Oct 1920 in Woodward, OK, at age 68, and was buried in Hennesy, OK.

        iii.  Edwin C. KELL was born on 27 May 1860 in Macomb, Grayson County, Texas and died on 14 May 1922 in Yakima, WA, at age 61. Edwin married Marie HERBER on 14 Sep 1897.

General Notes: Her mother was born in Ireland, County Clare, and was from a family of lesser nobility and ran away to America with her dancing master.

Mary married Samuel KELL on 26 Sep 1855. Samuel was born on 16 Jul 1833 in Rising Sun, Indiana and died on 3 Dec 1928 in Bison, OK, at age 95.
